Staying at the Shubu Hotel was a delightful experience. The rooms with Japanese style beds and both Japanese and Western style chairs were spacious and offered a great view of the river. The service was exceptional, thanks to the ever-accommodating owners and staff. The location in the Shibu area was perfect, with easy access to the snow monkey park. The dining experience, featuring traditional Japanese food, was excellent. Overall, a great value for money with top-notch facilities.

Staying at this traditional Japanese hotel was an incredibly warm and welcoming experience. The rooms were great, super comfy, and beautifully designed with tatami, futons, and sliding shoji screens. The service was top-notch, redeeming our impression of Japan with attentive and helpful staff who went above and beyond. The location was excellent, right in front of the main onsen street, leading to a typical old Japanese street with restaurants and shops.
